MASON
MASON IS A 9 YEAR OLD WHO:
LIKES BIONICLES
BIKES
SWIMMING
ICE SKATING
AND LAUGHING.
When you celebrate your child’s birthday you have an idea as to how that would look:
The house all clean,
all the children are in clean crisp outfits,
the food prepared ahead of time,
guests come, smile and you get caught up on what’s going on.
Everyone loves and eats a beautiful dinner
you give honor for the life that was created 9 years ago.
you open presents, sing “happy birthday”, eat cake.
The children run and play some more.
Guests all leave with smiles.
The birthday child has had the best birthday ever and goes to bed with a smile on his face.
Instead we experienced:
Rushing home from Wichita after purchasing a new bike and watching a movie,
to a house that needed to be picked up before I could start cooking.
Realizing that I wasn’t going to be getting out again to pick up the cake and asking Kristen to do so.
Then calling back because I don’t even have wrapping paper for any gifts.
Starting the gathering and my children still had the ice cream on the Walmart brand shirts that I got 2 years ago, and they weren’t getting changed this late in the day for fear of more laundry.
Cooking and learning to blog with 6 children running around.
Talking loudly to hear over the noise.
Waiting for our dad to come home from work only to eat dinner, cake and pass out gift bags all with out him.
Again learning to blog. (and trying to tell the kids to find the daddy’s)
Realizing that the children have had enough sugar to stone them.
Tired crying children because no one had a nap – including me.
Trying to find keys to Jerry’s car. (which we never did)
Saying goodbye
And then realizing that the birthday child has had the best birthday ever and goes to bed with a smile on his face.
Mason also leaves to Wisconson:
Mason was dropped off at Aunt Sara’s and Uncle Trey’s house on Tuesday to ride up with them to grandma and grandpa’s house. Mason was excited about going and when I asked him what he was most excited about, it was to go fishing. He told me that he loved me but likes to be away from us. Only Mason could say something like that and we wouldn’t have hurt feelings over his honesty. Have fun Mason.

Happy Birthday MASON! I remember when Aimee called Grandpa and said that we had a new nephew. I was so excited that I just laid on the floor with a huge smile. Im so glad your in my family! We love you!!
